Method 3 of 3 (Improper Shutdown)

Sometimes when trying to stream live show and more rarely when you are trying to stream recorded shows. The Android will simply freeze; If you are certain this is the situation, go ahead and unplug the android, and then plug it back in.
This is not advisable unless the Android is stuck, because if it is downloading (updating) or writing a file it could corrupt the current xbmc/kodi build.
If it is stuck, it is probably not downloading or updating at this time. (You may need to do a proper shutdown after it restarts if your wifi is not detected, but this usually only happens if your wifi is not currently set up.)

Try to exit xbmc/kodi with the "written" E and then go into System/apps and stop xbmc/kodi from running. Then restart xbmc/kodi from the desktop. Although, if it is stuck, unplugging the system is ok.
